New Zealand Prime Minister, John Key, recently signed new co-operation agreements with China. The agreements aim to increase the number of visitors to New Zealand from China, by fast tracking the visa process among others. John Key predicted that the number of visitors from China would increase five-fold to a million in five years and the rate of growth in exports would continue to increase and China could overtake Australia as New Zealand's largest trading partner. On 20th June, Mr. Lawrence Yule, Mayor of Hastings, Jimmy Royal, President of Royal Business College and a group of delegates visited Zhaoqing City and Zhaoqing Business and Technology College in Guangdong Province, China. This delegation was warmly welcomed by the Chen Xuanqun, Deputy Mayor of Zhaoqing Municipal Government and the Managing Directors of Zhaoqing Business and Technology College. Friendly and detailed discussions on setting up a joint campus with Royal Business College in Hastings proposed by the Zhaoqing Business and Technology College, teachers exchange programme, short-term training course, student exchange programme, tutors training and exchange teaching materials and share quality management system. |
